Career Description

Under direct supervision of the System Implementation Manager the Operations System Specialist work objectives will be focused on projects related to point of sale systems, data integrity, and new technology platforms supporting field operations. The Specialist will work directly with production support team, tech support, and development in validating and resolving issues. Additionally, they will assist in the management and accuracy of category data as defined in the point of sale system (POS).

 

Key areas of responsibility:

  1. System defect and enhancement management
  2. Understand user impact and recommend prioritization of defects and enhancements (tickets)
  3. Complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in-line with development cycles
  4. Data management and steward of category hierarchy and product informationCritical and Essential Tasks:
  5. Use Atlassian Jira program as the interface to manage defects and enhancements (tickets)
  6. Communicate and meet with internal project, development, requirement, and release teams to ensure Jira tickets are sufficiently defined and accurate for developers to complete
  7. Proactively ensure that tickets in each development / release cycle are prioritized for the most beneficial business and user impact.
  8. Contribute to the identification and documentation of defects and follow through to their resolution.
  9. Contribute to the identification and documentation of improvements to enhance the user’s effectiveness, efficiency, and experience in the POS.
  10. Become familiar with the product category hierarchy and the standardized structure in which they are managed.
  11. Subsequently steward updates to product information as new consumer products / product lines become available

Career Requirements

2+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience. 

High School diploma or GED. Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
