Career Description

Responsible for supporting field operations execution of asset protection processes in an assigned regional area. Leads investigation and recovery for losses within assigned Region, and manages liaison with external and internal partners to mitigate and prevent further losses. Leverages data and technology to focus and accomplish work with high business benefit. Utilizes assessment and exception management tools to target and resolve risk. Uses independence and judgment to recognize and resolve complex problems. Is accountable for the successful achievement of functional; quality, timeliness and accuracy of own work and the work of others. Receives general direction on how to complete job. Work is primarily self-managed and performed with limited need for supervision from the Senior Manager, Asset Protection.


Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Communication of Asset Protection Controls and Policies.
  • Conducts operational and regulatory required assessments,
  • Mitigates internal and external threats to all business initiatives.


Critical and Essential Tasks:

  • Reviews internal controls, and adherence to policies and procedures that affect store assets
  • Conducts training when and where necessary;
  • Monitors cash variances and ensures they are resolved;
  • Reduces inventory shrinkage through partnerships with all levels of Operations in the development and execution of Asset Protection initiatives, proactive and efficient use of existing security equipment, and use of available reports to identify potential issues within stores;
  • Investigates and resolves incidents discovered or reported, identifying causes and vulnerabilities during post-incident investigation, and applying lessons learned to mitigate repeat incidents;
  • Accurately, thoroughly, and timely reviews all available Exception Reporting Tools to gain maximum value in identifying trends that are negative to Company and/or AP goals;
  • Executes Company and AP initiatives, policies, and procedures to mitigate asset losses and maximize Company performance;
  • Conduct review meetings with the Regional Operations Director and District Managers to discuss current shrinkage trends and issues;
  • Identify shrinkage vulnerabilities before losses occur and develop solutions to reduce these types of losses;                                                                                                             
  • Keep senior management informed of any issues that may cause a significant internal loss to the company and make recommendations on what would be needed to correct the issue;Report on internal deficiency trends that need to be addressed to Operations and AP leadership, and develop solutions that address these deficiencies and trends;
  • Ensure that all internal investigations are completed timely and that all of our internal policies and procedures are being followed when it comes to internal investigations;
  • Investigates unethical activity and reports results of investigation to management as appropriate;
  • Collaborates with Operations and Human Resources to determine appropriate response to unethical activity;
  • Reports and analyzes AP investigation results and recommends improvements to processes and procedures to the Senior Manager, Asset Protection and appropriate Operations and Human Resource Management for improved asset control.
  • Participates in and/or assists in other projects as assigned by the Senior Manager, Asset Protection

  • Seven to ten years of asset protection experience in a retail regional asset protection role. Security, district and store level experience will not qualify for this position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of investigative interviewing and interrogation techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms rules and regulations concerning firearms.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Office of Consumer Credit Commission rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state Pawn and PDL rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal verbal and written skills; time management and organizational skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to use PC, including data input into a POS terminal, WORD and EXCEL.
  • Compliance with EZCORP driving policy. 
  • Education and Certification Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Wicklander & Zulawski or Reid Certification preferred.
  • CFI preferred
