Career Description

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of modules within an Application stack consisting of both open source product stack and COTS products.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Leads design and development of application modules in alignment with requirements
  • Takes ownership of applications or modules within a larger application and drives enhancements and bug fixes as required

Critical and Essential Tasks

  • Analyzes, designs, develops, modifies, writes, edits and implements software programming applications
  • Analyzes and defines software requirements to determine specifications and standards
  • Proposes solutions for issues
  • Estimates the time and effort needed for any application design, development and engages in the proposal process
  • Develops, designs, and edits original applications, or modifies applications
  • Tests and validates applications before moving it into QA
  • Expected to be available for any kind of maintenance of software
  • Responsible for monitoring of assigned applications
  • Adheres to standards and ensures best practices are followed during all phases of SDLC
  • Works on design documents and ensures comprehensive coverage of all modules within an application stack
  • Supports existing applications including analysis, troubleshooting application behaviors and data related issues to identify the root cause, document findings and execute fixes or workarounds when required

Education

Bachelors degree in relevant field of study

Job-Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong SQL skills including writing complex queries
  • Experienced in the use of technologies such as Java Spring Boot, MongoDB, SQL Server, Kafka and Spark
  • Experience in developing micro services using Spring Boot, MongoDB, SQL Server
  • Skilled in analyzing information, software design, documentation, testing ▪ Possesses general programming skills
  • Knowledgeable in software development fundamentals, software development process, software requirements and software architecture
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail and accuracy; and time management and organizational skills
