Career Description

We are looking for a Contract to Hire, Contract, or Regular Full Time Network Engineer who will report directly to the Manager of Software Development.

Primarily responsible for the development of new software applications and maintenance of existing software applications. Uses minimal independence and judgement to recognize and resolve problems. Is accountable for the quality, timeliness and accuracy of own work. Receives general direction on how to complete the job; works within policy and procedure. Work is performed with infrequent supervision from the Software Development Manager.

  • Software Application Development
  • Software Systems Maintenance

Critical and Essential Tasks

  • Using object-oriented analysis techniques, meets user requirements for small projects by:
    • Analyzing and documenting user project requirements,
    • Designing system solutions,
    • Code programs and
    • Unit Testing finished program.
  • Delivers software changes within in acceptable iteration testing and correcting, between development and QA Testing that do not fail in production.
  • Provides quality support for all existing systems following established problem reporting procedures.
  • Resolves help desk tickets, Support Center reporting and existing system problems in priority order within agreed time frames.
  • Participates in small to medium software development projects as a team member.
  • May communicate program and procedural changes through verbal and written means to ensure that users are aware of the impact of the changes.
  • May lead the technical development of small to medium software development projects.

Career Requirements

Experience

1-2 years of related experience and/or technical training; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university

Job-Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail and accuracy; and time management and organizational skills.
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
